When our company was founded over 49 years ago, we were a small business selling fertilizer in bulk to local dairy, fruit and vegetable farmers. The years brought slow but steady growth with TerraLink diversifying and expanding along the way into all crop inputs and markets, be they conventional or organic, liquid and dry, for both commercial growers and home gardeners. Today, TerraLink is a leading manufacturer and retailer of crop inputs in Western Canada with locations in BC, AB and Washington.
Stan Loewen has been with the company since 1979. He started as a sales representative, was soon promoted to sales manager, and eventually became TerraLink’s CEO. During the past 43 years he has been fundamental to TerraLink’s success.
Now the time has come for him to make big changes in life. Stan is planning to semi-retire in order to spend more time with his family and doing other things he loves - just as much as he loves working at TerraLink. Effective July 1st, 2022, Stan will be stepping down from his role as CEO and begin halftime employment for a two-year period. He will be taking on a support role as a working Director with the title of Vice Chair. The position of Chief Executive Officer will be taken over by Matt Thurston.
Matt joined TerraLink in October 2019 as Purchasing Manager. It quickly became evident that he had the skills and experience that would make him an asset in many other areas of the company. He was promoted to Operations Manager shortly after joining and will now assume the role of CEO of the company.
Matt graduated from the University of Guelph in 2004 with a B.Sc in Agriculture. His extensive experience in the field of agriculture, both as business manager but also as grower, his professionalism and leadership skills, as well as his commitment to our company makes him the ideal candidate for Stan’s replacement.
Please join us in congratulating Matt for this well-deserved promotion. We are looking forward to continuing to provide the best products and services for professional grower and farming communities near and far.
