Beneficial Insectaries

Fly Parasites

SKU: 6604810
Package Size
Sold as parasitized fly pupae. Scheduled releases of fly parasites help to eliminate developing fly larvae. The reduction of emerging flies is critical in breaking the reproduction cycle. Upon arrival, the fly parasites will be close to hatching from the fly pupae. Once hatched, they will immediately search for fresh fly pupae in which to lay eggs. The female fly parasite lays up to 50 eggs during her life that lasts, depending on climatic conditions, from 2 to 3 weeks. The parasite egg laid inside the fly pupae will hatch and the fly parasite larva will consume the developing fly, pupate and hatch out into an adult parasite and repeat the cycle.

  • About Beneficial Insectaries

Providing an affordable natural balance for pest management in diversified urban settings, agriculture, and horticulture industries.

  • Why Use Biologicals?

One of the primary benefits of using beneficial insect release is that the process avoids chemical pest control methods such as pesticides. While pesticides are effective at controlling and eliminating pests, some plants and beneficial insects like bees can be affected negatively. Beneficial insects are a natural, organic, and environmentally sustainable way to control pests.
